Hi everyone!

First post btw..

I am having some major issues with windows 7.

Basically i am having trouple playing games from steam on my windows 7 PC, Everytime i launch a game released after 2015 i get an error that says "Dlll missing" And then a long number.

I think that upgrading to windows 10 might solve the problem but i would like to avoid it if possible.

I have tried and update windows but it just keeps on saying "Looking for update" for hours on end!

I am at a loss of what to do.

Thanks in advance.

Lel, I had this issue before. You might need to reinstall. What I ended up having to do is copy the missing dll files from the boot camp install I had on my Mac and that fixed it (though this was on W10). If you have another W7 machine you could try doing that. Go into event viewer to see if it could specify what dll file is missing.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Thanks for your reply Dr!

It does say specifically what dll is missing i just cannot find a way to reinstall them! it's very annoying. My biggest problem right now is the fact that i cant get windows to update! It just keeps saying "looking for update" For hours on end! Its really annoying since the fix to this does the same thing for me!

Do you have another win7 install on another machine?

Also what are the specs of your pc?

Sadly i do not have another Win7 install.

And i am pretty sure that the DLL files that are missing are caused by problems with my microsoft visual c++ 20xx programs. I tried unistalling every single one of them and then reinstalling them again. But i cant install them again! It just keeps saying "Processing" Or "Looking for update".

Yeah, definitely reminds me of my situation. I reinstalled visual c++, all the different versions, multiple times as well as uninstalled them many times and it still didn't work. What you could do is make a vm and install w7 on it and then copy the missing dlls from the vm to your computer. Otherwise, you'll have to reinstall :/

Not sure if that would fix the issue without a clean install (I'm assuming you're doing a clean install anyways tho).

I had the issue after going from 8.1 to 10 so...

My laptop broke COMPLETELY after i upgraded to Win10 from 8.1. I had to send it to germany to get it fixed. AND WHEN IT CAME BACK IT WAS IN GERMAN!

I still have a 50% german pc to this date. But its not that bad. I'm actually writing this on it right now!

btw new LTT upload for 20 secs ago!
