I'll start off my saying I have got no idea if this is normal or not as I wasn't able to find any threads elsewhere to verify it.

I'm running the XFX 7950 DD with 2 monitors (both Samsung but different models)

At idle with 1 monitor the temps of the card are in the low 40's degrees Celsius. At load between 78-82 (this is with fans reaching up to 50%. and the memory clock is running at 150Mhz when at idle

with 2 monitors

at idle temps 55-59, load 80-84, and memory clock running at maximum (1250Mhz) when at idle

To me this seems not normal. I figured that the memory clock should only be running double when at idle with 2 monitors. I'm guessing that because it's running at maximum it is producing so much more heat

(the load temps are high cause I cannot stand the noise from the fans when they get past 50%, also between 50% and 100% there is about 1 degree difference)

Any thoughts, articles you might have come across on this, things I can try, would be greatly appreciated. Or if I'm completely wrong please say so :)

Thanks,

DB

I have a windforce 7950 so I can't really confirm if thats normal for your vendors model or not, at a mediocre overclock my idles dont pass med 30s and loads over low 50s

Me: Yeah I just really can't get my H220 working again, I've tried everything that was suggested in the forum.

Brian (Swiftech Support): Hmm, have you tried slapping it?

yeah it's sorta normal. the DD cooler is terrible but i brought it so i need to live with it. but if you are running 2 monitors is your memory clock at its maximum?

at idle/desktop I'd say no. I'm not really sure what you could do to fix it though, did you say its currently overclocked? Try bringing it back to stock and see if the memory is still throttled.

The memory clock should increase based on gpu usage, not the vram usage. 2 monitors vs 1 shouldn't have any mem clock difference

eh i dunno man. This card has been giving me nothing but trouble since i bought it. and it isn't RMA'ble (according to the store, which sucks)

it only seems to happen with 'extended display' with duplicate it's normal.

One more reason I'm still using my 465, it just works like it's supposed to.
