Hey!!

I need to do something in Microsoft Office Word, but I cannot figure out how (call me stupid, I know xD)

I found this document online where there is a set of periods (when it's printed you'd write on this 'line'), and when you start to type the periods disappear automagically.

Some screenshots to clarify

(I hope it's clear, if not I can post the document as an attachment)

Now I need to do the exact same thing in my own document, but I can't seem to figure out how they did it.

I already checked the method with the developer tab, but it seems like they didn't use this.

Would anyone be able to help me?

I'm sorry...

I know you're used to more exciting stuff, but it's really quite important...

Have you tried pushing insert on your keyboard?

Yes

I'm not in insert mode.
When I try to replace the periods just using "insert" in my document, the text takes more space than the periods which I am replacing.
So by just using insert I need to remove some of the periods by hand anyways...

Thanks for the suggestion though

Bit confused about what you want to do, do you what all the periods to disappear or only where you type the periods are removed?

I want the periods to be replaced while typing, but enough periods need to be removed so the length of my bit of text will stay equal at all time.
Try this:

Type a whole line of periods in Word. Go to the start of the line, and start typing (insert enable).
Your periods will still cross to the next side, since the letters take up more space than the periods they are replacing.

This is what I want to avoid.
