I have a "Dell XPS *8500",

-Intel core i7 3770 ,

-12 gigs of ram,

-460 w power supply

and currently with a Nvidia gt-640 .

I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card so I am able to play battlefield 4, and other future release games at 1080p on ultra settings fluidly. I have a 400 dollar budget, I was thinking about getting a R9 270x and upgrade my powersupply to a 750w .

I'd just like to know opinions if this is a good idea, and the right components I would need. Thanks!

Get a 280X and get a 500 or 600w PSU. 750W is way overkill.

Yeah, but you wouldn't have to go 750w, I run my 780 with a 760w and I have a bit of power to spare. Otherwise sounds good!

Should probably check if the PSU is proprietary first...

Another thing I should have specified, I'm working with a limited amount of space, the xps 8500 dell case isnt much . I'd have no problem modifying the case if I had to, but if I could avoid the headache that'd be fantastic.

*Takes a bow*
