Hello,

I have a Palit GTX680 Jetstream ... it has 3 fans, the middle one only turns on if the GPU temp is over 80-85C... not sure exactly when.

I've noticed when under load and the 3rd fan starts spinning it starts making an annoying noise as if the fan is touching a wire or something. Well... its not.

I've opened my PC, put the GPU under load and while it was making this noise I touched the fan to a stop... now it spins without the annoying noise!

I haven't disassembled the GPU, but do you think its a loose screw, the fan just dying or I have a magic healing touch?

I really don't want to disassemble the GPU for nothing so any opinions matter.

Thanks

Probably a loose screw scraping against the fan blades. A loose screw against a fan spinning at 1k+ rpm is going to make an odd noise.

Okay, the GPU is dissasembled but I am a bit confused on how thr fan is attached.

on the left is the front side of the fan with the branding sticker removed, right side is the back of the fan...

The metal part in the middle is not a screw, and the black part on the right pic in the middle doesn't seem to be a cap.

That is odd. It could be some really tough adhesive keeping it on, or maybe just a hidden screw.
