Might be running a system that uses 300W so 500W is fine,

This is not like the generic power supplies. The build quality is decent, and so is the protection. Kitguru has done a review on it and it shows to have the protection actually work. Everything about it seems just fine for my uses as my build is fairly low power.

The reason why it's so cheap is because, to your surprise, Aerocool is only known in the UK and Europe. But seriously, I don't get the hate as it's comparable to EVGA's 80plus power supplies (yes, this one is also 80plus), which aren't for particularly high-end builds, but they would suit low power ones. I'm gonna upgrade my PSU anyway in a few years, but right now it should do the job.
