I am looking for cheap reliable storage for backup. I will use it in my R5 case so noise shouldn't be a concern. It will be mostly read operation and speed isn't much of a concern either.

I was looking for some cheap green drives and 3TB seems to offer the best GB/$ ratio. I saw the generic brand HDD on both Amazon and Newegg. I am not very familiar with those. Has try them before? What do you guys think about it?

Appears to be a Western Digital.  Likely some stripped down application specific model that is excess or old stock out of a large datacenter.

I avoid it, unless you are willing to buy them in bulk and test and verify that they will work for you application first
