Personally I would get non-LED fans and just get LED strips. Looks less like a "gaming" computer.

I have heard that the led strips ware out pretty easily? is that true and if so then what do you recommend? 

Bitfenix Alchemy, I don't use them but everyone including Linus uses them and read a few reviews that they like them. Also I think the NZXT hue is a good choice also for multiple colors.

do they come with mounting velcro or something or what would you use?

Both the Alchemy and Hue come with a 3M sticky back tape (forgot what it's called) and you can place it anywhere in your case.

ok and last question, im getting a corsair 350D case, what are some non led case fans some 120mm and some 140mm that would look good in a black case? I might try the strips instead of LED fans too now...

I would say Silverstone AP122 for 120mm fan and Bitfenix spectre pro non-led for 140mm those are some that come off the top of my head
