Hello everyone, avid LLT forum fan, just never seen a reason to post until now.

So Im cleaning up/preparing a computer to be given to someone. i just got this computer, my job was to turn off the admin password, and remove anything that's private or extra programs. doesnt sound to hard to do. I use Trinity recovery tools to get rid of the password, it works. boot up windows. when ever windows is started, the keyboard is unresponsive. The keyboard works in BIOS and things before windows boots. thinking well then it must be a driver issue, i plug in a combo touchpad+keyboard. the mouse portion of the touchpad works, but once again the computer doesn't recognize me pressing any keyboard keys. I was told from the previous owners friend that they where unsure if the keyboard worked before i even got it, so its extremely likely this was a existing problem.  any help or ideas would be very appreciated!

sorry i didn't give to much background info, someone passed away, it is going to their relative. the only thing installed was a comcast program and 2 games, its almost a brand new computer so i was hoping i wouldn't have to wipe the computer clean and get a new copy of windows.

Oh, in that case it should be alright.

I would uninstall the keyboard in device manager, reboot and see what happens. Maybe install avast! and Malwarebytes too and run a scan.
