(For reference, my specs are: Windows 8.1 Enterprise 64-bit, Intel i7-3770K 3.5ghz (Stock speed), ASRock Z77 Extreme4, 16GB DDR3-1333 (Corsair XMS I believe), Antec HCG 750W PSU, MSI Gaming GTX 1070)

Anybody here know how long Display Driver Uninstaller takes?

I've been having issues with my new GTX 1070 and how it's been rendering graphics in a specific game, so I sent the support team an email (for those wondering: it's Guild Wars 2) and have been in correspondence with them, giving them CPU temps, etc. Finally, they said that they would like me to use Display Driver Uninstaller and boot into safe mode for Windows 8.1 (yes, unfortunately I'm still using Windows 8.1), and do a clean and restart.

It's now nearing 10.5 hours since it started "registry cleanup" in the log that it provides so I was wondering- does anyone know how long this takes? Did I somehow do a massive screwup and it's not supposed to take that long? I tried closing the program, but that didn't work.

I checked task manager and it says it's taking 0% of my CPU, 39.5MB of my 16GB of RAM (doesn't change at all) and doesn't show drive usage since it's in safe mode, I assume. So...Has it finished and do I just need to close it and boot into Windows normally? Did it screw up and totally destroy my system? In hindsight, it might have not been a very good idea to run this program, but it was kind a last resort because even the GW2 support team was getting confused and couldn't figure out why the game wasn't performing correctly. At this point I already submitted posts to r/buildapc and r/techsupport and didn't get any replies, so I figured I'd try here.

Help?

Help?

Another user had this problem yesterday. Try using an older version as I think there's a bug in the latest update. Unless that user was you?

No, I didn't post here yesterday. I just made an account a few minutes ago and posted here as a last resort since I didn't get any replies on Reddit. So I need to close the program, boot into Windows normally, download the older version, and then go back into Safe Mode and run it?

Yeah someone posted and was having the exact same problem. I haven't updated to the newest version yet so I can only assume the update is borked.
But yeah, just do as you described and you should be good.

Thank you so much! This fixed my problem and it was able to get past the 2nd cleanup phase and just now restarted back into normal Windows so I can reinstall all my normal drivers. I had never done this before so I was super worried when it got stuck.

Thank you very much for your help!
