Uninstalling graphics card help! quick!

So i have a gtx 1060 6gb, wanna update driver to 378.78. Uninstall old one using DDU but now im stuck in this screen "starting registry cleanup". Been like this for 15 minutes now. What should i do? Is restarting safe?

Can you press any of the buttons? If so, I'd press "clean and restart", since it's highly recommended.

That's the button i press to start the process. Now i cant even press the close button...

Try alt+f4. If that works, then run the software again and see if it completes the process.
Or you could close it though task manager.

So i used task manager to force close and re run the program, same button i press, then it's stuck there again!

Didn't know they'd updated. Well I'm using the one I posted, so maybe you could try that. Could be a bug in the latest update.

So i decided to system restore and just manually uninstall. But turns out the uninstaller wont show up. So i'm forced to use device manager to uninstall. Gonna see if everything's fine.

 

Been using DDU for years with my gtx 780, but now i dont think i want to use it anymore...

Pardon my ignorance but why use DDU instead of device manager? Arn't you using no essential just bloating your machine with non essential software?

i've always used Add/Remove Programs & Device Manager to remove the drivers with good luck... not sure why you need a third party app these days.

Probably cleans up some left over files that you don't need, which in any case don't do any harm. I guess people are anal about it

y are you doing that firstly just download new driver from nivida and it cleans the old driver out for u once u unlock your pc
