I have a chromebook for school and would like to code when I have no other work to do during my free time. I have been using codeanywhere and it's decent but I don't think it's the best option out there. I do have AWS (I'm paying for it) but I can't SSH into a virtual machine on a chromebook and their browser based client uses java which Chrome doesn't support apparently (Although I could've sworn I've gotten it working on chrome but that isn't really an option on a chromebook) and I don't know if there are any browser based SSH clients I know aren't phishing sites although let me know if you know one because I would be more than happy to know about it.

So this is what I'm looking for:

  • free
  • a decent amount of storage (15gb+)
  • A vm running linux (preferably arch) to compile the programs and push them to github (I don't need window manager support since I love using the console on unix based/unix like systems)

Or, a web-based SSH client I can trust or some way to SSH from a browser. That would be great if I could just use AWS.

Any suggestions?
