So I managed (being the genius that I am) to utterly fry my CPU.

I increased the voltage of the motherboard to the CPU, which proved to be fatal to the processor, as you can imagine.

Now, having got another CPU, I'd like to know if putting a new CPU into the same Mobo will destroy the brand new CPU.

I cleared the Motherboard CMOS by taking out the battery for 10 mins. but I'm hesitant to put my new CPU in for fear of the same result.

Can anyone clarify what I need to do if this hasn't done the trick?

Thanks from London.
