Hi guys,

I owned a Sony Vaio Fit 14 (SVF14A15SGB). I've upgraded the laptop with SSD and additional 4GB of RAM (originally 4GB soldered to the board). The laptop is running windows 10 Pro UEFI mode

I rarely use this laptop, one day when I try to boot the laptop, the booting process is EXTREMELY slow, by booting process I mean the spinning circle before entering windows.

First thing that come to my mind is either virus or dead SSD. I waited patiently until the computer finishes its boot process and run asSSD benchmark. The result was fine, read and write is fast. I also notice that windows runs just fine, speedy as usual.

Next I reformatted the SSD and do a clean install of windows 10. This doesn't help either, the boot process is still very slow.

I even tried removing the extra RAM to see if it is the problem, but the problem persists.

I'm also on the latest BIOS from SONY.

Can anyone suggest what should I do to troubleshoot my problem? Is this some kind of BIOS virus?

Not really a virus probably just a rootkit. Try these restart each time.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, but I think its not that, because I've reformatted and do a clean install, still have problem.

I also forgot to mention that I used another ssd and do a fresh install on it, the problem still occurred.
