32gb ram

GTX 770

And in buying a zotac Amp extreme GTX 1080 next month

I also want to go x99 but should i wait for x299 and then buy x99 used as i dont have the money for buying x99 parts new

Wait and check benchmarks, your CPU should be enough for almost everything.

wait for ryzen, should only be 2 weeks till release, then wait a week or so for benchmarks/reviews to be done.

Honestly the 4770 ain't bad so you will survive on the cpu / mobo / ram until we see how Zen / intel response is. With your GPU upgrade it should make it very decent.

I'm on a 4790k and a 1080 I get great performance at 1440P, I don't think they 4790k is too much faster than the 4770

Well my main monitor is the LG 29um68-p

What kind of performance can I expect from the 1080 at 2560x1080?

well its 1080P, so a lot lol , sit around 70 -  100 FPS ultra at 1440P on average
