Intel core i5-3550 vs Intel core i5-4460

So, I've been following the Ryzen leaked CPU-Z benchmarks, and when i was comparing my old Ivy Bridge CPU, I came across this.

Why is the 3550 winning a newer Haswell CPU?

Also, why is it winning an Extreme edition CPU at single thread benchmarks??
Do I have a really good CPU currently?

The IPC advantage of Haswell over Ivy Bridge is only like 5% while the 3550 is clocked higher (by enough to give Ivy the edge).

Also, remember that Ivy-E is 4xxx. 3xxx is Sandy-E.

I didn't look at the screenshots because I'm lazy, but iirc the 3550 is clocked higher than a 4460 -- and the IPC advantage of Haswell over Ivy Bridge is only like 5%. Also, remember that Ivy-E is 4xxx. 3xxx is Sandy-E.

Yes, but the chip is clocked a lot higher and is an Extreme edition, the i5 should NOT win against a 3960x!

Please, take a look.

Not true, even if it is a "extreme edition" doesn't always mean it will win a single core performance, these processors are meant to use more cores. You can tell by comparing the scores.

I guess I wouldn't need to upgrade my NOW 5-year-old CPU, right?
