Check if elements are loaded in a userscript

I'm trying to make a user script for a website which loads all the elements then starts an animation to load the rest of the elements into view.

 

I want to execute most of my script as soon as it loads, but its all messed up if it doesn't load immediately.

 

Is there any way to pause the script until a random element is inside the DOM?

Don't talk about stale memes.
