QPI And Effects with 4 to 1 links

I have a Dell R810 with 32x 4GB sticks of memory.  the server currently has 2x L7555 Processors in it and i want to upgrade them to E5-8870.  i noticed that the L7555 has 4x QPI Links and the 8870's have 1x.  I plan on immediately replacing 2x and then adding the remaining 2x once i obtain two additional heatsinks.  

 

my worry is that i will loose functionality due to the 3x less QPI links.  can someone shed some light as to how this change may affect my abilities on the server?
