can gpu slow pc down ?

i tested gtx 660 on my friends pc  , i installed drivers but i couldnt even get to game it was so laggy , i think its because pc i tested gpu on had only 2 gb of ram but could gpu cause problems ?

2gb would definitely not launch certain games, some may even lock you out if you dont have 4gb of ram at least

i am not talking about games it was overally slow , that pc can run cs go at 60 fps but with gtx 660  it had 15 fps

Maybe gpu is broken, test it with igpu. VRAM has nothing to do with pc being slow, what are the rest of the specs?

A GTX 660 should be able to run CS GO no problems. I think something is wrong with the card or the PC.

 

2GB of System ram should not really be that big of a problem on CS GO. That is within the required specs: http://store.steampowered.com/app/730/
