i have a xfx rx480 it has 8pin on the board and my psu has 2x 6+2 but the card came with a 2x6 to 8pin adapter which i use atm but am looking at getting a second card can i use the 6+2 for each or do i need a new psu 

 

i dont see y i cant use the 6+2

The card needs an 8-pin, that's why. You will need a new PSU. Besides, crossfire on a 550w PSU is kinda iffy.

Oh. I apologize, I read 6+2 as 6 for some reason... 

 

6+2 should be fine for each card. Just keep in mind that while you should be fine with that PSU (pcpp reports ~400w for those components), you will be running it pretty hard.

coz it said so meh and it didnt matter but i want 2 cards now so it does
