I use Private Internet Access VPN. I have a client installed on my PC, Android Phone, etc etc. However, I have tried to install the applicatio (v66) onto my laptop. The installation seems to pop up in the CMD window for a split second, with this:  http://i.imgur.com/M5orafJ.png text. I have tried running the program as administrator, disabling firewalls and disabling my anti-virus. I know a generic tech forum isn't the best place for a very specific software issue, but I have no other place to go (the PIA forums are dead).

Thanks

Try re-download the installer file.

Can you try logging into another user (or create a new one) and then install it? It might be a permission issue with your user's personal directory (possible NTFS perm error) if running it as admin doesn't fix it.

This is a paid service, I can't just create another user. Also, like I said, my account works perfectly fine on other machines. If that wasn't enough, logins aren't required in the installation process?

Thanks though

No, I mean on your laptop. Create another local user and try to install it to see if you get the same error. Sorry for not being more specific.

Just did it, created another local administrator account and it installed without a problem? So maybe this isn't a permissions issue? Thanks dude, any further ideas?

Are you running Windows 10? Did you upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.x by chance? If so this is a common issue with the upgrade process and a search on Google or YouTube will show you how to reset permissions in Windows 10.

Yeah, this laptop originally came with Windows 8. Could you link me to a video explaining the problem / how to fix it? Thank you so much <3

I believe this will help you:

I'm not 100% sure because I can't find the article I used with the commands that fixed it for me.
