my case shipped with white LEDs as default for both power on and HDD activity - really hard to see the HDD activity when the LEDs are the same color .. bloody hell NZXT, what were you thinking!!?

my plan is to replace the current white LED with a red one, but .. red LEDs have a lower voltage range than whites, if I recall it's only 1.8V; white has 4-5V

 

I did some searching and I found conflicting info that the header on the mobo is actually self regulating, is this true or I do need to a add a 330m ohm resistor to the LED so it won't melt

 

ps: the header supplies 5V from what I found
