Oh, Thank you! I was a bit confused. Is there any way to improve this or have it not fail? (If i sound like an idiot sorry, haha)

Don't worry, you're not an idiot, everyone has to learn from somewhere :)

Anyways, there really is no way to improve this apart from making the lease time longer (48 hours maybe). It all depends on your router contacting your ISP for a new IP from the ISP's IP pool.

For the past couple months. My Internet has been shutting off randomly whether its in the middle of the day or night. I would then have to go and unplug the router and modem for 10 seconds and plug it back in for it to work. It's mainly just an annoyance, Is there any idea of how to fix it permanently. The Modem is an At&t u-verse Router/Modem combo and a net gear router. I have shut off the wifi functionality for the u-verse router/modem.

It's most likely failing to renew the lease so it has to shutoff to renew it

I had a very similar problem with my Time Warner Cable internet. After calling them many times and having them put a signal booster in my house without the problem being fix. They eventually replaced the line from the street to my house in which they found squirrels had chewed up the line.

Lease as in bill. But Sometimes it doesn't happen when it is due though? Is that the only explanation?

No. The lease is when your router gets a new IP address. It does it usually every 24 hours. If it fails then, it'll try to renew the IP (lease) in half the time (12 hours). If it keeps on failing it will cut half the time off until it just shuts off periodically to renew it

You could complain to AT&T about it and see what they do. Problems like these can be very frustrating and if you're paying for a high package you're not really getting a good customer experience.

I have an 18 Mbps download speed and planning on upgrading to their 75 Mbps. Hopefully they can come through because i really hate dealing with customer support. :P
