Uninstall programs from a failed HDD

So my HDD just died. Is there any way to uninstall old apps and programs from the system which were installed on my HDD?

I think you'll have to add a new drive with the same letter, install them all again to the same location as before, and then uninstall them.  Might be easier to just reinstall Windows.

Hi,

What is it that you had installed, were they regular programs or things from the Microsoft store?

go to windows registry and hunt them down the long hard way

The very long and hard way xD and you still probably won't get it all...

A tool like that would be a lot better than searching manually of course :P

 

I had considered that but I'm never too sure how thorough those are compared to a proper uninstall.  But, for all I know, it's actually better ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I use it windows though I'm on Linux just now don't really like windows anymore. CCleaner gives you the option to back up the registry before you clean it so no real harm done. I've never see cc break my system as of yet.

What if i just restore the files from the drive and copy them to a new one? Would it work?
