I have a bottlenecking issue...

So, my problem is that I just got a GTX 970. It should be more than enough to play most games, but something is holding it back, and I have no clue how to find out what's doing it.

 

My spec's, if it helps:

 

GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 G1

MoBo: MSI 769GM-P34

CPU: AMD FX-8320

Memory: 2x 8GB DDR3 RAM

PSU: EVGA 700W 80+B

 

I'm new to PC building and parts, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Define holding it back as in fps? You are playing on 1080p or 4K. If you are playing on 1080p, then should not have any issue with regards to fps.

Yes, I mean in terms of FPS. I play at 1920x1080. I know I shouldn't be having any issues on the FPS front, but I am, and that's why I'm here.

Which games and whats the average fps or lowest fps?

Borderlands 2 is the main game that I play, average FPS is 56, low is 11.

Hmm. average should be around there I guess but your lowest is really low ... Your CPU should (in theory) be fine for it. Your RAM seems ok as well (16GB). Do you know the CPU load as well as GPU load and also their temps? All this information should be enough for the rest to assist you on it.

Sorry can't help you much on it.

The CPU load is around 20 to 30% on the first 5 cores (8 core CPU), and the temp is really high, around 55 C (130 F).

To be frank, 55C should be fine as in, it should not really affect performances when it's 55C. How about your GPU temps?

GPU Temperature is around the same, I wonder if it's a cooling issue....

Hmmm. 55C ish for GPU is also fine. Now I roughly know why no one reply in other forum. Haha. This is like those situation whereby no one knows what happen unless they have the machine to try it out 1st.
