So ,my friends PC apparently got majorly screwed up, and he brought it over to a PC repair shop (i swear they're useless...), and they pointed out that his GPU was broken (unrelated, i know)

but the other thing they told him that doesn't make sense, is that they told him that his SSD got corrupted because he installed windows with all his drives plugged in. is that even possible? can an SSD just corrupt and like that just because all the drives were connected during the windows install?

That as far as I know is impossible. I have installed windows 10 in excess of 5 times with multiple drives with no problem. I would find a new repair shop, sounds like they are making stuff up to get some extra money.

totally possible. because they even ignored that he said that his SSD isn't detected as the main drive on a bios reset. and once he went and did it himself, pc boots fine. just the graphics card that still doesn't work

Yeah, my SSD isn't detected as a main drive, I have to manually do it. But it's not corrupted or anything. You can always do an S.M.A.R.T disk check and that will give you a definite answer of if it is corrupted or not.

It's not possible in the way they stated it. Windows will only install to the drive you've selected.
