I have a single 3gb 7970 and I figured if I want to start running 3 monitors I'd better get another one of those bad boys and xfire em.

But I read that 3 monitors is more taxing on the VRAM than gpu, so more VRAM is needed.

Also read that when you xfire cards, the second lot of VRAM isnt used, only the gpu. So i'd still only have 3gb.

My concern is that when it comes to 3 monitors in eyefinity, another 7970 gpu wont do much for me, what i really need is more VRAM, right?

I hope this isn't the case because 6gb cards are expensive as tits

Yeah 3GB is enough for now. a single 7970 on that resolution will have a bit of trouble with some higher settings.
