Vga (D-sub) to dvi problem

Hi

I'm Trying to connect My Monitor  AOC E2270Sw  to my  windforce gtx 970 . My monitor have VGA(d-sub) only so i bought a vga to dvi adapter  for reference you can google it or check it here . when i do that the monitor stay black until my the windows screen (Desktop) appears   if i try to check BIOS window i can hear the sound that i'm in BIOS but the screen is black i can see my GRUB ( dual boot) screen as well . any idea how can i fix that
