Ok, so a little intro duction to my issue.

I work for a security company, all IT issues get hired out. But at the moment my bosses are in a tranisional period switching from one IT firm to another, which means there is currently no IT support in their office.

They some how learnt (Screw you facebook) that I am into computers and dragged me into the office and told me to fix it.

Now the issue is as follows.

The office has 3 computers, all running windows XP and the issue we are having is that the networked printer is not showing up on the network and the driver install disk is not detecting it on the network either.

The printer in question is the HP laserJet Pro 200. they claim that it was working during the morning, but after BT (ISP) came in and installed the new fibrewire connection for the office, the printer was no longer working across the network. (thus I got a phone call during my much needed beauty sleep)

I tried the usual stuff such as hitting it, shouting at it, and yearning to throw it out the window and putting the blame on an seagul. I also tried negatting the switch and switching from the RJ45 connector and puttign it directly into USB mode but still nothing.

Now One issue which I managed to suss out was with the printer refusing to print anything while it is low on ink. a second issue which I need assistance with is that the printer it self (HP laserJet pro 200) keeps freezing on the touch screen, I'll do a cold reset and get back the main menu but it will freeze on a print opition (Document currently printing - resources need replacing) or the menu will freeze and no buttons will respond.

TL:DR

networked printer isnt working.

I was thinking about the firmware, but the reason i didnt bother updating as that it was purchased new this year, but the last fireware update was 2012. I might just download it and see if it works.

again reinstall win... problem fixed

seems like a waste of time, the issue is experiance across all 3 machines as well as my own personal laptop. While connected to the network, every machine fails to detect the Printer.

is it only with that printer or with all the printers? and are you running a domain or something like that?

There is only the one printer in the office. and there is no domain hosting on the network. it is just a basic network linking all the computers to the internet and to the one printer/scanner.

the drivers are not detecting that the Printer is connected. via Network or usb.
