I'm looking to build a new gaming PC (for games such as GTA V, Rocket League, etc... in 1080p) that will also be used for basic use (movies, etc...). Probably not going to go 4K with this build.

So anyways, I was looking at Digital Storm, thinking about buying a pre-made PC (blasphemy, I know), and I saw the base model Vanquish 5 seemed adequate for my needs. So I went on PCPP to see if I could build the same PC (or even a better one) for less.

I'm trying to keep the price of the rig below $1000.

Here's what I came up with:

Any obvious bottlenecks? Or ways to decrease cost without losing performance? Any input would be very appreciated. Thanks!

I would advise switching the PSU to an EVGA G2 550W. Excellent quality and cheaper. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/qYTrxr/evga-power-supply-220g20550y1

The money you save could go to a larger SSD or something. I would ask yourself if you actually need an optical drive or not. Personally, I haven't used one for 3 years.

I'm really surprised that I can get a i7 with that video card for right at $1k. I think I'm going to stick with my current build, though (unless some other minor tweaks can be made), just to save the money.

You don't need a cooler. That cooler won't help anyway

Get full ATX motherboard. MicroATX are bit small to work with

120GB SSD but small

The rest is fine
