HDMI 2.0/TV Input question

Zangashtu

Hi all,

Just a quick question, so my RX480 has a HDMI 2.0 port and I currently have an LG 32LF580V as my display.

So my questions are, how can I know what vers of HDMI port my TV has? and if I go and buy a HDMI 2.0 cable, will I be wasting my money if say the TV only has a 1.4 port or will it kind of "downscale" (for lack of a better word) so it's still better than your bog standard run of the mill HDMI cable?

Thanks in advance

That's a 1080p TV. HDMI2's advantages over 1.4 is 4k60hz. It will only use HDMI 1.4 even if you use a HDMI 2.0 GPU.

And cables are cables. It really doesn't matter what you use.

idk
