Hello forum!

I've used my lovely PC for about 5 years now and I'm thinking to upgrade it. I currently use this spec:

MOBO: Asus P8B75-MLX

CPU: i7 3770

RAM: 2x4 Corsair Vengeance DDR3

(current) GPU: Manli GTX 650Ti 2GB

PSU: Cooler Master Elite 500 Ver2 (http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/office-home-elite-power/elite-power-v2-500w/)

I am thinking to upgrade it to GTX 1060 or RX480 8GB. And no, I'm not trying to make a war between nvidia vs amd kind of thing, I'm just confused how to upgrade my current PC.

As I browsed trought the reviews of both GPU, I saw that my PSU could be a problem for me since these 2 cards draws more power than my GTX650Ti, I put the link to the specs of my PSU, and I will attach the table below.

I'm using this PC to do my stuff and casual gaming, engineering program (CATIA, Solidworks, etc), and for my sibling assignments (AutoCAD, Sketchup, etc.)

Thank you people!

I've got some recommendations from my peers as well, that I should just buy the 1050ti and get an SSD. What do you think?

Yeah that PSU is pretty terrible, I would upgrade it. Where do you live?

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

Indonesia. I knew that PSU is quite terrible, I bought it bcause it's quite cheap and it's enough (or more than enough) for my current specs. If I'm going to upgrade all of them, I really need to save up more money. I'm not made of cash lol

yeeeep. get a new PSU too :)  the EVGA 500B or the Corsair CX550m are really great options for the price.

even an 1050ti will not satisfy the PSU? :( that's really lame..... thanks though. CX550 costs quite a lot here

Look for a Seasonic power supply. Even their 430W models can run an RX 480 or 1060 and more importantly they're pretty well built.

Yes I would not advise using that CM Elite PSU even with a 1050 Ti.
