Complex SSD swap help!

Ok, heres the situation.

Desktop - 1tb ssd with windows, <200gb used

Laptop - 1tb mechanical, 550gb used

New- 500gb ssd

 

I want to clone the desktop 1tb ssd files to the 500gb

Then clone the laptop 1tb drive to the 1tb ssd

 

How do i go about clearing the 1tb ssd, so i can clone the laptop to it? Anything special i need to do? A format maybe?

clone the desktop SSD to the 500GB

make sure the new SSD boots and then delete all partition on that 1GB SSD

next step, clone the laptop HDD to the 1TB SSD

Awesome, thanks. Thats what i thought but wasnt sure since i was cloning
