I got a new ssd because i was tired of my hard drive taking so long to do all of my startup processes. I downloaded a windows iso and installed windows into the ssd and was able to boot it up, but i can't figure out how to link my harddrives together in order to get info from the hdd while on the ssd. My computer is treating the drives as two different computers because of the two different OS's and i'm not sure what to do from here.

You cant run the programs installed in the older drive when you boot from the new drive.

What you can do is access the user folders and copy all your documents, pictures, etc.

In the old drive there must be a folder call users, inside look for a folder with the user name you had in that PC, inside you'll find the documents folders.

Mystery is the source of all true science.

Programs aren't just a bunch of files. They form special links with Windows in the form of the registry. Links that don't exist in your new copy of Windows. You can still install programs to your hard drive, but they will need to be downloaded and reinstalled from scratch. Just choose the hard drive when the installer asks where you want to install the program.

As for the administrator issue, if I were you, I'd log in to the new Windows as administrator, take the files I need from the drive, and do a fresh format of the HDD (right click, format, etc...). It will get rid of your old programs and free up loads of space.聽
