Turns out that when I was putting in the DVD rom I accidentally unplugged the power thin which went to the motherboard, all works perfect now!

Nice, thanks for letting me know!

I just moved my parts from my older case to my newer core 2300 and now it won't start up at all.

I5 3470 no over clock

Hyper 212 evo

12gb ddr3 hyperx ram

Fractal design 2300

Gtx 980 amp

625w ex2 cooler master power supply

Msi zh77a-g43 motherboard

I don't know really what to try since I looked over and made sure that everything was connected and such, but I'll appreciate any help.

Let's start with the obvious stuff.

Is the switch on the PSU set to on? Power switch header plugged in?

24 pin & 8 pin aux are in so they can't be the issue. What exactly happens when you push the power button?

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

At the bottom right of your motherboard there is a section called JFP1. It is laid out like this:

1 2 3 4
A B C D E

Plug the cables into the following pins:

1= Power LED +
2= Power LED -
3= Power Switch +
4= Power Switch -

A= HDD LED +
B= HDD LED -
C= Reset Switch -
D= Reset Switch +

yes,

those are responsible for making the front IO work (buttons + LEDs)

if you just want to test, you only need to plug in the power_SW (on the right header ofcourse)

And then your system should at least start, the LEDs won't light up until you plug in the headers for them, but you need to plug in the power_sw for the computer to turn on when you press the button, you can also jump the power switch with a screwdriver which I do not recommend for less experienced users!

Make sure you hook up the POWER_sw, or PWR_sw up to the right header and you are golden!

EDIT:

Looks like the power switch is plugged in? (is it?)

Make sure the power supply is turned on, and that the wall power is plugged in correctly, and live.

I have all of them in but still, literally nothing happens when I push the power button, the power supply is plugged in and was flicked on and still nothing

- Make sure you use standoffs when mounting the motherboard

- Remove video card (and attempt a start without the video card)

- Check the bios reset jumper (if it still there, and over the correct pins)

- Reseat 8pin CPU power connector (EPS), as well as the 24pin motherboard power connector!

- unplug all front IO (use a screwdriver to jump the powerswitch, be sure to NOT short out any of the other pins!)

- Unplug all fans except the CPU fan (and see if it spins up)

- Make sure all screws are in the motherboard (from what I can tell on the first image there are some missing, both on the top are not in.)

- Remove 2 ram sticks (so leave in on) and maybe try jumping around the one stick, swapping It around.

Before I do any of this shouldn't there be a led on the motherboard signaling there is power? Because there's nothing at all.

If your board has one of these, you are looking for something that isn't connected properly (did anything happen while you were changing out your system)

And is your power cord directly in the wall socket and can you power something else with it?
