Hey guys,

I just played Titanfall 2 as the first game on my freshly rebuilt gaming PC. I have a i5 3570k and a GTX 1070 Founders Edition. On totally max settings I was getting 100% CPU utilization on all cores based on what HWMonitor was telling me, is this normal?

Thanks.

Its not normal.
Can you recheck % with MSI Afterburner + Riva Tuner, as sometimes HWMonitor shows weird stuff.

idk how to check cpu usage in afterburner

Titanfall 2 is actually quite light on the CPU, but it does require 4 threads to run properly, so it should run fine on your CPU.

This game shouldn't be maxing a 3570K...

Performance reviews show it running practically the same all the way down to a four year old AMD FX 4-core;

If that is the case, your CPU would not be at 100% load.

Also judging by the fact in your other thread about the 1070FE at 98% util, the bottleneck should be on the GPU and not CPU.

well my cpu usage is displaying 100% on all cores on both afterburner and hwmonitor, after playing just for a little while on max  everything

Load up task manager as well while playing and look at the processes tab see what hogs your resources at 100℅ i suspect it might be svchost ... Its not the game at fault, either a software conflict or some driver issue.

I opened task manager while playing, and svchost.exe is taking up the highest percent of CPU usage throughout the entire time I was playing.

what should I do? I literally just installed windows today on brand new drive... installed Microsoft security essentials before ever surfing the web and installed all my drivers from a USB so I don't see how I could have a virus.
