I have a opinion on radiator position for AIO coolers.  I believe some layout for AIO are just asking for pump failure.  Please show me how I am wrong.  The best example of the worst layouts are often shown in a Cosair 600C inverted case.

Won't air be continuously circulated through the pump after bleed from the rad?  Initially their won't be much air, but overtime won't the coolant evaporate or migrate into the rubber of the hoses.  I have a AIO, I just pulled out of a system after three year of operation.  Shaking the rad now it make a sloshing sound.

I think this would be much better for the pump.

yes all closed water coolers have some air in them for liquid to expand under heat and your first picture shows that most of the air would be inside the pump. I don't know anything about others AIO pumps than asetek but it would be very hard to destroy asetek with some air bubbles being inside the pump but it would be damn noisy.

So your second picture is the optimal, asetek advices in their own videos to have radiators top to be above the pump for all air to go inside the radiator.
