Thunderbolt 3 connection on the front of my case

I have a couple of usb3.0 connections on the front of my case and want to use one of them for thunderbolt 3 coz I need the transfer speeds for transferring video. I am going to buy an Asus x99-a ii next week. Now the nomenclature on the mobo says it has thunderbolt 3, but it looks like it uses a pcie card to obtain it. In otherwords it is not natively on the mobo. Is there a mobo that supports thunderbolt 3? Can I use one of my USB3.0 connections on the front of my case?
