USB to RS-232 Converter

Go to solution Solved by jj9987,

I have one USB-to-RS232 converter as well and I have had no issues running it on Windows 7, 8, 10 or Linux. Windows has been able to find default drivers for it itself.

Hi Guys,

my friend is having a dillema. He has a USB to RS232 Converter by newlink (http://www.newlinkproducts.co.uk/prodinfo.asp?catID=4&prodID=89)

The problem is he wants to upgrade to windows 8 and there are no supported drivers for windows 8. Will it be okay to install the windows 7 driver for this kind of peripheral? I hope to get a response as soon as possible. Thank you.

W7 to W8.1 is not an upgrade, it's more of a sidegrade

W7 drivers should work on W8, but there's no 100% guarantee - the only way is to test it

Thank you very much for the responses. Good day everyone! I'm more comfortable upgrading my friend's pc now. "side grading" if you may.
