I was meaning to use this ssd in a new computer of mine and was only using it in my old setup (alienware 17) until i could get the last of my parts for my computer. well after a fresh install of windows i forgot i was going to use the ssd for the new computer and updated my bios to a new alienware bios. i'm not sure what to do now, am i going to need to wipe the hard drive to use it in my new setup or?..

You don't need to wipe the drive. BIOS is normally installed to a special ROM chip on the motherboard, but If it did wind up using the drive for extended BIOS files it shouldn't hurt anything. This is especially true since your new machine *SHOULD* use UEFI instead of bios and won't even care about the old bios code.

Depending on the BIOS though, you may need to re flash it on your Alienware if things aren't functioning properly after replacing the drive.
