Used Parts

so for Christmas i have some money

I live in canada

and am planning to get a build consisting of a 2600k and a 7970 or possibly a 290x

so how much should i pay max for each of those parts

and what other parts should i get used or not used

and what i should change

i want peripherals as well and possibly a better monitor(last priority though)

budget of $300 CAD

already have 920gb ssd

I would expect you to have a hard time getting a 2600k, 290x, pperipherals and monitor for $300 CAD.

 

But, the 2600k is still a capable processor, even if ageing. But for a budget build that and a 290x would be great, just dont skimp on the PSU.

But also, if you can find an i7-2600K for cheap, totally buy that. benches about the same as an i5-6400 of memory

i mean its the same budget as scrapyard wars season 1 though right?
