PROC: intel i5 4400

MOBO: Gigabyte G1.Sniper B6

GFX: Sapphire r7 260x OC 2gb

RAM:Gskill RipJaws 4gb x 2

PSU: Seasonic 620w 80 Brownze

Hi guys, need help...

My computer takes a while to complete POST.

It takes about 5-10 seconds for the single short beep which means system is normal.

and once it does pass POST it shuts off after 5-10 seconds.

I had tested a different PSU and different RAM stick from a working system and it was still no good.

I noticed that the keyboard and the mouse does not get any power unless I here that single short beep.

I had removed all other peripherals and left only the board and proc. and it does go to a memory error beep code then goes off after 5-10 seconds.

It does go to the BIOS if the HDD is not detected but the same thing it goes of after 5-10 seconds.

I checked for vent pins or burned processor or even bloated capacitors on the MOBO but found none.

I also replaced the thermal paste and added an after market cpu cooler but the same thing.... Fan starts and then 5-10 seconds that single beep then 5-10 seconds the computer dies.

I was able to make it work the first time I had replaced the fan, but after a day it stopped working again.

Totally clueless now since I know it is not an issue with the RAM and the PSU...

I have attached some pictures of the board and the pins.

HELP... Its Christmas, I dont have any plans to spend on extra until the next year, so I dont wanna buy new parts without getting some other opinion.

P.S. There are no computer repair parts near me :(

Yes, tested all the slots with a working RAM. tested all possible RAM configuration and still no good.

It started on its own after a week of not using the system.

One thing I have noticed was that it was always booting to BIOS asking me about the BIOS settings if I want to set it to default whenever I powered it on about a week ago.

Have you cleared your CMOS and what type of cooler are you using?  Make sure that you aren't clamping the cooler down on the CPU too much as excessive clamping force can cause memory issues.

My old cooler fan was the one that the proc. came with, now I am using

Deepcool ICEEDGE MINI FS V2.0 Heatsink Fan

and pretty much just install it how it should be, my previous cooler's locking mech was already broken and loose and that is why I had to replace it, I have always been monitoring my temps, and had not seen any rise when it was still working.

When you mean cleared my CMOS, that is removing the cmos bat. for more than 10 seconds right? and I also replaced the cmos bat. with a fresh one.

Yes, but sometimes removing the battery doesn't work right unless you do it for a substantial amount of time.  Use the clear CMOS jumper on your motherboard.

You won't notice much in the way of temp differences with excessive clamping force, but as stated earlier, it can result in memory issues.

Will try to clear the cmos and will get back to you, probably later as I am in the office. Thank you so much!

In case of cpu clamping, is there any way to mend it? Anyway the issue persist even when I had not replaced my previous fan.

So I went home and did cleared the cmos.

but  no good.

I then proceeded with removing the whole system out of the case so i csn try to run it on my desk.

I did so and it was the same.

Cleaned the board foor dust.

Tried all rm configuration.

It diid stay on once  long enough thaat i was aable to go to the BIOS. but after thaat it just went back to the same issue.

I haave taken videos and some pictures.

i hope its could just be the board.

Since I caann replace it and it would not cost too much...

Unlike if Ii replace  the processor.

What do you think?IMG_20161123_061101.jpg

I had a problem a few years back that was similar and the culprit was a failing harddrive, I also had a problem about 3 months ago, again similar problem and it was a faulty motherboard.  Try booting to your optical drive with your windows cd in if it boots to that your problem is probably your harddrive.

I did the  boot without the hard drive.

I tried with my hdd and  also tried another hdd from a working system but it was the same thing.

Now  I am sure it idnt the hdd...

not the ram...

not the psu...

So it boils down to the mobo or the cpu.

I am guessing could it be thst the mobo csnt  sustain enough voltage?

Ive heard about psu low volting..

but can it happen to a mobo as well?
