Hi, I'm getting my first rig soon and I'd like some advice on parts to get, and if I can get the total price any lower.

I'll be using the computer for gaming, 3D modelling and Photoshop painting, among other things. I'm fine with 1080p, but want to try 1440p. I haven't got a monitor, so I'm also open to suggestions on that front.

I have already narrowed down a list:

Help would be much appreciated. Thanks! :]

I swapped the motherboard to shave off a bit of money, swapped the PSU (100W for $5, why not?), cheaper case, cheaper (but still good) SSD, and I changed the HDD to a faster WD Black, which is more expensive, but probably worth it.

do you really need a 2TB HDD though? at that point you may be better off with a NAS.

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Why not change the PSU to something with decent quality?
