Xbox One Controller Dead Again? :/

So i bought a xbox one controller about 1-2 months ago and it's worked fine up until now, whenever i plug it in the computer throws it's dummy out of the pram and says "power surge on USB root hub" i've tried various cables and ports, the controller connects to my console wirelessly with no problems however connect the USB sync cable and nothing!

Try it on another computer. Also, are there any other USB devices that cause your computer to give you this error message?

Nope tried on other pc's and the only thing connected is my keybaord and mouse, and they don't give me errors, i've tried wired and my console and it doesn't work

Well since these controllers use the micro USB standard, that is likely the issue. If you have already tried different cables, my guess is that the port on the controller may be busted. Try to get a refund if you bought it from a store, or try contacting Microsoft directly.

When in doubt, re-format.
