Been ages since i last posted but i may finally sell my laptop and am considering to build a PC in it's place.

I've gone through so many PCs in the past 3 years, had 3 PCs (self-built, and built a total of 7 in the 3 years) and 2 Laptops and it's been a real headache (but also quite fun) and so i am looking for a build that i will hopefully be able to keep for a longer period of time.

If i do sell my laptop for ~ 1000 Euros, this is what i'd like my build to look like (which will also cost ~1000 euros):

As i was away from intense PC building for about 8 months, i may need some advice.

The Case is not debatable, i want that one as it is quiet and the orientation of the ports fit my setup very well.

I have a 500GB laptop hard drive that i will probably also mount into this PC and i have a NAS with 18TB of storage so i don't need more than a 500GB SSD (don't want any fancy m.2 ssds).

RAM may be relatively little when compared to my old builds, most having 16 and my X99 having 32GB but i am using 8GB on my laptop and have yet to run into RAM related issues. If you disagree and would recommend 16GB please let me know why, as i am still kinda on the fence about the size of the RAM kit.

I am aware that there are cheaper power supplies but reviews of the RMX series are far superior to those of the RM series (which i staunchly opposed), a gold rating and quiet operation are also somewhat important to me.

As for the air cooler, i have used that exact one in 2 of my previous builds and they are very quiet and very effective so i'd like to use them in this build.

I may also buy 1 be quiet silent wings fan if needed, but that will have to be determined once the build has been stress-tested.

The 2.5" to 3.5" bracket is for the case, i would like to mount it within the cage.

For prices please use geizhals.at (and google translate w/ chrome if you don't understand something).

Thanks and i look forward to your replies :)

PS The prices seem to have sky-rocketed on some parts like CPU and motherboard. I remember buying the 5820k for 350 Euros and now its equivalent is over 400 Euros!!

Why a Z170 MoBo? Use the money to get a 1060 6GB or a 480

I have 2 requirements from a motherboard: Diagnostic LED and Solid Caps.

This is one of the cheapest motherboards that has those 2 features and i prefer asrock motherboards as i have had good experiences with them.

PS The z170 extreme4 is cheaper but i just dont like it.
