Hello guys!

So i have only a month left to deicide which smartphone i want when i have to extend my contract with my mobile carrier, and i am kinda on a cross road since i do not know with which side i need to go.

But first let me explain why i am considering to go to IOS from Android. The reason i used to love Android was becuase of the Nexus devices, the price to perfromance ratio was second to none in my opinion and stock android was to me the bes version of android + you got to be the first to get the updates instead of wondering if you even got it (i am looking at you lenovo), period. Now that the Nexus series is gone i started looking at the Pixel, and i was shocked at the price to be honest (yes, i know Iphones are expensive to. just let me finish). Like i said the reason i loved the stock android devices was the price, and what you got for it. with the pixel that is gone. But if i am gonna drop almost 900€ on a fricking phone, i feel that the iPhone is just the more reilable choice. But like i said, i am at a cross road. and i want you guys opnion on it! What are to to pro's and con's of both platforms.

I am looking forward to your anwsers!

(Sorry for the horrible english)

Both solid options .

For me it was nfc payments and file Explorer, but now I'm using Google photos it's less of a problem and apple pay just launched in my country.

Apple will support a device for 5-6 years where as Google only support a device for 2 years max.

That's OK as you probably get a new phone from carrier every 2 years.

If you go to carplay or Android auto, on iPhone you are locked to Apple maps

On android you can choose.

I don't know what else really matters...

I've had androids and windows phones, but this sh*t always started to get slow after 4-5 months (htc devices). Iphone just works as it is supposed to, that's it. No freezes, no need to reboot it to fix something, it just works.

That is one of my main complaints about Android, especialy with the devies from some one like Samsung,

I've used both (and Windows Phone... big mistake), here's why I've stuck with iOS:

- Updates. Typically you do get 4-5 years, at the least you are guaranteed to get them for the life of your contract. With Android I found they seemed to disappear after the first 6-12 months, and even the ones that did were heavily behind Google's current version. Every time I see another "millions of android users at risk due to bug" I am glad I have iOS, but also feel sorry for all the Android users who will never see an update to fix these bugs.

- Support. Apple will generally do anything to keep you happy. I've had bad experiences with Apple Stores, but I spoke to them about it and they compensated me.

- Ecosystem. The App Store will always have priority to developers as it's where the dollars are at.

- Stability. Bit subjective, but as others have mentioned above, Android does seem to have that Windows problem of software-rot. Over time it just seems to get worse and worse.

- Google and Microsoft adore it. Seriously, you can get virtually every Google and Microsoft app on iOS, and generally they are excellent quality. Ars technica did a rather interesting article about how the best microsoft tablet was an iPad due to the app support. It's a but old now but the situation has only marginally improved for Windows tablets.

I am really glad the you said that almost every Google app is available for IOS, (since i use those alot), this one of my main concers if i deicided to tranfer to IOS, as with the updates, i dont want to risk for example that due to a bug in Android that is fixed by Google and released on theyr own phones but not released by the maker of said phone (HTC/Samsung/Lenovo) that someone gains acces to like my bank account, since i i use the app created by my bank ALOT and almost all of my payments (expcept when i order something at a webshop) are done via that app. and yeah, i dont wnat to risk losing alot of money because brands like i just named are incompetent to release updates on a timley manner (or at all, LENOVO). you almost have me convinced to go to iOS

If you do need that reliability - get iphone. You can save up some cash by getting se version, at least it's not in a 'tablet'-sized screen territory.

Luckily i dont have to save up money lol, if i go with the contract i have in mind (which is an extensions with my current carrier) i dont have to pay for the phone, just the monthly cost of 44€ (i get 5GB internet on one of the fastes 4g networks in my country, and unlimited Calls/sms) right now i pay 37€ per month so i only pay 7€ more

How many apps, music, or books have you bought through the play store? Those will not transfer over to IOS.

The only thing that i have bought through the appstore is the Cerberus security app nothing more. I also  got a free movie from google which is called Gravity but like i said its was free, and i didnt like it so yeah xD
