Phone Screen Seperating

Burusutazu

Phone:

Moto X 2nd Generation (Republic Wireless)

Problem:

On the right side of the screen the glass has seperated from the rest of the phone leaving a noticeable gap (about the size of a pencil lead), the seperation is just down the middle and the edges are still flush with the edges. I can press the glass back flush with the phone but it won't stay that way, I'm assuming the adhesive wore out. (The phone is almost 2 years old.) I haven't droped the phone, and the phone is basically in perfect condition besides a few nicks on the metal.

My question:

I can't afford to have the phone repaired professionally (plus at this point I may aswell buy a new phone if thats my only option....). I was considering purchasing some clear silicone glue to put in the gap and reseal the screen. Would this be a bad idea? If so what are my options? If not what kind of glue would work best with this?  The digitizer appears to still be fully attached, as the screen still works perfectly even with the gap.
