What is causing my BSOD?

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

It's not possible to help you with this information. "Kernel Power 41" doesn't give any info about the BSOD. What it's saying is that a BSOD may have happened, but unplugging your computer while it's on would prompt KP41 too. So would hitting the reset key and so on. You need to dig up more info. Specifically, the error messages and stop codes in your BSODs. And as @manikyath said, if it's just one BSOD every now and then, it's nothing to worry about. Random stuff will happen and sometimes it'll cause the computer to crash. For instance, BF1 is a brand spanking new game. If it's ever going to be unstable, it's now.

if it happened just once, it could be just a fluke.

if it happens more often, there's some "default steps" you can do

- reinstall GPU drivers (this is a first step for me the moment pretty much anything goes wrong, a habit i got from my old hideously frankensteined monitor setup)

- virus/malware scan

- dust out your system

- test for faults in windows files (open CMD as admin and type "sfc /scannow")

i tend to not really listen to what the blue screen is telling me that is the issue, since having a fault in the mechanism detecting the fault can make very strange things happen :P ("either every part of my system is broken, or i need to reinstall windows")
