i need a mouse i can carry around with me between work and school. i have some joint damage in the first 3 fingers on my right hand and i've found that larger mice cause less stress on my hand. i use the logitech g700s at home and love it. i wanted to buy the logitech mx which is what the g700s is based off of but it seems that several people have complained about this mouse on both logitechs site as well as amazon so im going to look for a different mouse.

i dont care if the mouse is wireless or wired. my price range is i guess $150 which should cover most mice. im willing to spend whatever on a mouse if  fits my needs and doesn't cause me to be in pain. im open to all recommendations. thanks for reading.

here is a dog for your troubles

I would suggest a Logitech MX518 for a large and robust mouse.

Have one that I used years ago in the draw as back-up, its comfy to lay my entire hand on as its so big.

Pic of someone holding it (he has huge hands though lol)

The g400s is the modern version of the MX518.

Miniox 3200 is even larger and almost as accurate too.

ah ok! i was trying to find the mx518 and assumed it was no longer in production. ill take a look at the miniox suggestions too.

I really like the mionix 3200 but went with the g400s. Even they have pretty much the same sensor, the g400s is more accurate in gaming due to its firmware.

As you are not using it in a gaming situation, any of the mionix line would most likely suit your needs. Just pick whichever max cpi you need (3200, 5000, 8200) and go from there.

I wear large to extra large motorcycle gloves when riding (Depending on the brand) and the g400s fits me well. I had a previous version that was between the mx518 and the g400s, the g5 which was laser. The shapes of the series have stayed the same and fit palm users with large hands well.

The biggest difference with the mionix is how wide the base is. You can be assured every one of your digits will rest on the mouse comfortably.

The only variable I can't account for that i can see if your joint damage. I don't know what exactly would or would not be comfortable to you exactly. Just as an aside, have you ever thought about a trackball? I find the ones where you control the ball with your thumb to be the most comfortable. Logitech has made some great ones over the years.

You may be able to find a used G5 for a reasonable price.

I much prefer the g400s to the g5. Unless someone could get the g5 for a song and dance or for free, I'd stay away from it. Not only have laser mice been much improved since the g5 first came out, but the newest generation of optical mice with the avago 3090 sensor are fantastic for their price and more accurate than their laser brethren.

As for a trackball, check out the Logitech M570. If it wasn't for my gaming addiction, I'd only use trackballs due to their increased comfort over a mouse.
