ugh... Hi, I know basically 0.1% of networking, and the best part is, that when I want to learn and go into my router to do stuff, I'm surprised by a lovely foreing company, that blocks my access to the router, and all i can do is call a guy, and so far i was able to change the wifi 2.4ghz channel to the one that was crowded by default, hurray!

My noob question comes here, for example, on Rainbow Six SIege, i get a ''strict'' Nat, am i fuckek? can I do something outside of the router? should i just buy a good router that actually lets me do stuff and has decent wifi coverage?

strict NAT isn't inherently bad

do you have network connectivity issues when playing R6S?

Not really, 45 ms, i'm from argentina and the server is on brazil, so I'm fine with it, but I'd like to ''fix'' it just for the sake of doing something and learning stuff

if you don't have access to the router, there's nothing you can do

When you say "couldn't get into it". Can you not get to the router web page or is the issue not knowing the password?

At first i wasnt able to get to the page, but after reseting it to default I got to the page, but still, its supposed to be admin/admin, but i tried every combination possible on this brand's list.

two things you can ask them do to, to improve the NAT situation

  1. enable UPnP on the router
  2. move your gaming PC on a static IP and add that IP to the DMZ - this will mean that you have to be very careful and I strongly advise to get yourself a firewall (Glasswire free it's a good start)

Then getting a decent router could be a good idea right? i tried to look into port forwarding, they told me they wouldnt let me because of security reasons, Lol.

port forwarding isn't always the best idea, see the post above for what you can ask them to do for you

a 2nd router might work but ... only if you can't make it work with this one

they would have to turn that gateway of theirs into bridge mode, otherwise you'll end up with a different can of worms ... double NAT
